Goodbye 2015 —> Hello 2016! Day 2 – Favorite Line From A 2015 Title…

Goodbye2015Hello2016Banner1

Hello all!! I thought it might be fun to have some of our Featured Authors join us for a few “end of the year” posts. Each day this week, we’ll have a new topic. Some days one author will fill the post, some days, we’ll have a few different authors sharing their thoughts. Some of the Featured Bloggers are even getting in on the fun.

Here are our topics for the week: be sure to check back (or subscribe – that would be easier 🙂 ) to see what our authors (or maybe even their characters) have to say about each day’s theme.

Monday: Book I’m Most Looking Forward To In 2016 (NOT My Own!)
Tuesday: Favorite Line (and Why) From My OWN 2015 Title
Wednesday: Something I’d Like To Learn To Do In 2016
Thursday: Habit I’d Like To Break In 2016
Friday: A Toast To The New Year

You can find posts for today’s topic here, and over at Literary Escapism and Literal Addiction. Before you scoot off to check those others out… here are some “favorite lines” from a few of our #CMCon16 Featured Authors (and something for you to win!)

From Jeffe Kennedy:

Harlan raised his brows at me. “Shall I cuddle you on my lap and sing you a baby-sparrow song?”

Here’s the full exchange, from THE TALON OF THE HAWK.thetalon1-252x379

I gave him a sidelong glance. “Being worried would imply that I lack confidence in our forces. I am…thinking.”

He made a snorting sound. “Not much of a distinction. How’s the head?”

                “Fine.”

“You’ve lost color. You need to rest.”

                “Thank you, Mother.”

Harlan raised his brows at me. “Shall I cuddle you on my lap and sing you a baby-sparrow song?”

My turn to snort. “What in the Twelve is a ‘baby-sparrow song’?”

“Eh, not in the Twelve. I don’t know your word for it. A soothing tune, usually with a lot of silliness, that you sing to infants to make them sleep.”

                “A lullaby, we call it.”

I love this because it shows Ursula and Harlan really beginning to connect – and enjoying the other’s wit, also. There’s his concern for her well-being, her reflexive resistance, and then the banter. That conversation makes me both laugh and sigh with a lovely flutter.

From Jan DeLima:

Thank you so much for inviting me to share my favorite line from Autumn Moon, Elen and Cormack’s story!  For those of you who aren’t familiar with my Celtic Wolves series, just imagine a place where warriors are also wolves and reality isn’t always what it seems.  Set in modern day, the stories are a mixture of both urban fantasy and romance.  My characters are often tormented, not to mention growly on occasion; a side effect from their wolfy sides I’m afraid.  Cormack especially, since he was trapped in wolf form for several centuries until Elen freed him from his curse.

Elen was the only person who was kind to Cormack while he was trapped in wolf form, and now that he’s finally human, he finds his voice to tell her how he feels.  Needless to say, this is my favorite moment…

Cormack to Elen from Autumn Moon:
“You hold my heart in your hands, and even if you don’t want it, it won’t matter because I’m lost either way.  I am yours. Do with me as you will.”

From Brynn Myers:

The Echoed Life of Jorja Graham is book 2 in the Jorja Graham Duology and was released April 9, 2015.

“Follow my echo and I will lead you to the still point at the center of it all.” ~ Jorja

I chose this line not only as the blurb for this book, but also because it truly states the entire premise of book two. I love the hidden meaning and am always pleased when the reader connects with it too.

The Life & Death of Jorja Graham is where it all begins and The Echoed Life of Jorja Graham is where it all comes together. Currently, book one is available for .99 cents. Pick up your copy today and see where Jorja’s story begins.
