This February’s Olde City, New Blood mini-con was incredible. Thanks to some amazing authors and readers, and despite some hiccups, we had a blast meeting new people, hanging out with old friends, and talking about all our favorite urban fantasy and paranormal romance stories. There was movie snarking, platypus alien flash fiction, Mardi Gras parties by the pool, book readings that had people in stitches, and tons more that kept us all busy and entertained. So… the question at the end of the weekend was… will there be another in 2014?
It appears so 🙂
I tried my best to keep the event in St. Augustine. That city has paranormal written all over it. Unfortunately, it’s a city that just wasn’t built for groups our size. Daytona, however, has a lovely beach (some of you may have heard of it, lol) and plenty of room for us to get our urban fantasy groove on (ok… so maybe I’m not cool enough to say that, but you get the idea).
I’m SO, SO excited about the host hotel, and they’re excited to have us. I’ve already started working on some panel ideas that I hope you will all love, and a few authors have already expressed interest in coming. The ball is a’rollin!!!
I’ll be updating pages and sharing more information as things get settled… I’m just starting to nail down the details. You can subscribe to the page to make sure you don’t miss any of the news. I’ll be getting the Facebook page up and running in the next day or two, and the twitter screenname is @CoastalMagicCon.
I’m really, REALLY looking forward to putting this year’s event together. I have a much better idea of what the heck I’m doing this time around, so hopefully that will turn into more fun for all of us!!
Keep your eyes peeled for exciting updates and be sure to let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Huge thank you to everyone who was involved with Olde City, New Blood. I hope you can join us for some Coastal Magic.
